7 things you must keep in mind while picking a web design company

You may encounter with so many friends who will tell you a story about the someone who committed to provide them a website, but ran off with their money or they hired someone in their relation for free, and the result was disastrous. 1.      Look for actual Designing:  Contact the firm whose core business is of web design. Don’t go for someone in your family relation or the “ guy you know from the church”. You build business relation not personal relation so that you go for negotiation and even complain if you are not happy. Don’t hesitate in asking for references and if possible call them or meet them personally before giving the projects.

2.   Check the website of firm: A firm says that they are so much busy in creating other people websites and don’t have time for their own website will surely not do justice with your website.If a web designing company itself  not  have appealing website it cannot provide you a website of your dream. Check the portfolio of the company and judge their portfolio on the base of live websites.

3.     Ask them questions about your current website: Give complete time to firm to do homework on your website and ask them for shortcoming in current sites.Listen their presentation regarding your website, components and elements they recommend .

4.      Discuss about their approach: Ask them whether they provide template based website or believe starting from scratch. The company believes in starting from scratch means creating photoshop documents is the right company for you. Because if you wish to stand out of the crowd you must have a unique design that can only created if web designing  start from scratch. Also, if you wish to go for any big change in design templates will create the problem but if your own PSDs its very easy to do.

5.      Do they create SEO compatible website: The ultimate purpose of website to have global presence,promote services and products on internet, but if site is not SEO compatible like its have flash then its just not possible to good SEO for website. So choose the firm who has good knowledge of creating SEO compatible websites.

6.      Look Pricing: Choose a firm providing “ value for money” . You may find firms charging too high just because of their brand name but at times small at low price can provide you same work and may even provide you some value added services to develop a good business relationship.

7.      CMS base sites: Make sure the firm you are choosing have the skill set to provide content management sites. So that you can change the information and images by yourself at point of hours.

8.      Most important:  Contact a firm who is comfortable in your language. Else there will be a great communication which ultimately risk your websites.
